A £2.2m internal refurbishment and fit out carried out over 20 weeks by WOW, in partnership with min contractor, Overbury, and Broadway Malayan architects. A project in the heart of Reading town centre required intelligent solutions for space saving and sound proofing. A client of this nature required particular attention to be paid to cost management and control.
Procured by Hampshire County Council, a £2.2m fit out was integral within the £12m total build budget, WOW’s scope including sound proofed and secure British Gypsum drywall partitions and SAS metal pan suspended ceiling systems throughout. Feature ceilings are fitted with sound absorption and the internal structure comprises a bespoke joinery package with Leaderflush timber doors and Optima Single Glazed 117 partitions.
WOW was able to deliver the project successfully and has subsequently secured further contracts under the same IESE framework upon which this project was procured. A modern yet contemporary fit out now provides Reading Council with a formal and spacious working environment with intelligent considerations for light, sound and energy management.
